Die 1894 errichtete Katharinenhalle, in der u.a. Varietéaufführungen, Zirkusdarbietungen und Ringkämpfe stattfanden, diente ursprünglich als Tonhalle bei der Internationalen Musik- und Theaterausstellung im Wiener Prater 1892 und wurde danach in das im Jahr 1886 eröffnete Vergnügungs-Etablissement “Dreher-Park” (heute 12., Schönbrunner Straße 307) transferiert. Sie bot rund 4000 Personen Platz und bestand bis 1925.
