Photographer of disappearance: Trude Lukacsek

The photographer Trude Lukacsek, born in 1955, has documented relicts and disappearing urban consumer culture ever since the 1980s. Her interest is not on the new, shining, and boisterous things that push their way into view. Instead, she discovers the silent poetry of old-fashioned things, the charm of well-worn items, and curious and individual amateur advertisements and shop window designs. The photos show examples of the currently heavily decimated small trade that was long characteristic of Vienna.
