Beautiful Views. The Vienna pictures by Artaria & Co.
Among the most important and gorgeous picture sources of the history of Vienna is the “Collection of Views of the Capital City of Vienna” which were published by Artaria & Co. beginning in 1779. These fifty-seven colored contour etchings were drawn and etched by Carl Schütz, Johann Ziegler, and Laurenz Janscha. The first editions, especially, are highlights in the history of Viennese graphic arts.
