Noah’s Ark by Oskar Laske

The eighty-meter-long wall frieze by Oskar Laske was created for a home for children, the Rodauner Kinderheim (Elisenstraße 45, 1230) in 1918. Two scenes are shown in magnificent color, on the one side, the animals arranged in pairs stream onto the ark to seek protection from the imminent flood, while in the second scene, they have already survived the catastrophe and the animals are leaving the ship again. With that, Laske brought color and hope into the lives of these home children in the First Republic.
