Easter greetings from the Wiener Werkstätte
Wiener Werkstätte postcards with Easter greetings must have been particularly popular as a great number of different motifs for this are available.
Lambs, bells, and spring landscapes, for instance, were furnished with Easter greetings. Mela Köhler designed a series with elegantly dressed women posing with baskets full of Easter eggs, and Oskar Kokoschka also supplied Easter motifs.
The series by Arnold Nechansky stands out artistically: he presented his stylized figures in the colors black, red, and white—including rabbits, eggs, and lettering—on a gold ground.
